Average high air temperature: 24-32 C°. Zanzibar experiences ideal holiday weather for most of the year, with the exception of April and May which are seasonally subject to the long rains. Short rains can occur in November but are characterized by short showers which do not last long. The heat of summer is seasonally often cooled by windy conditions, resulting in pleasant sea breezes, particularly on the North and East coasts. Being near to the equator, the islands are warm all year round, but officially, summer and winter peak in December and June respectively. Zanzibar is blessed with an average of 7-8 hours of sunshine daily. Water 28°C all year.
About 15-20 knots every day. The wind starts from the North around 20th December. It has been very good over this period for the last two years. It probably blows until March/April and again from July to October from the South.
At present, Gulf Air, Ethiopian Airlines and KLM (together with Kenya Airways) offer international scheduled flights to Zanzibar. Several large carriers fly into Dar es Salaam, which is only a short trip by air or sea from Zanzibar. Amongst them are British Airways, Emirates Airlines and Swiss. Domestic flights: Precision Air offer a range of scheduled flights between Zanzibar and Tanzania's main cities. Getting to Zanzibar by sea: There are several sea ferry companies that ply the waters between Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. The largest of these is Azam Marine. You can book ferry tickets through a local tour operator.
06-02-19 alberto: I spent the first week of February in Nungwi. It is really a great spot!
Everyday 20-25 knot, the place is beautiful, the colours of the ocean are amazing, and , when the wind is side on shore, surfing and jumping the waves in the coral reef is an unique experience!!
Nungwi is really the best spot of Zanzibar island, and the best place is the beach of the Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel(one of the best hotel in the island).
