Choppy with Levante (East), waves with Poniente (West) which can be up to 3m (mainly winter and spring). Depending on tide and direction of wind, there can be a small lagoon, which is nice for beginners or flat water tricks. High frequented spot.
The beach is pretty at this zone because it is in front of spot Las Dunas (Punta Paloma). To the left many rocks, to right go to Las Dunas, 500 meters in between. Large area with sand about 50m wide.
In spring and autumn a shorty or longsleeve, depending on the weather. In summer shorty, in winter a long one is necessary. High-season from Eastern to August, low season rest of the year. Protection U.V.A. is most recommended for this area.
The wind changes from Poniente (West) to Levante (East) in general every few days, guess the best rate can be up to 60-70% days with more than 4 Bft per month in summer. Best direction is definitely ESE. When wind is forecasted from East, it´s possible that the wind will come to the beach (ESE).
From Tarifa to Cadiz after 6-7 km on the left side there is Playa Valdevaqueros. Follow the small dirt road at the signs Valdevaqueros. At the end of the road you can park for free and only a few meters to the beach. A car is needed if you don´t live next to the beach.
