The wind blows here at least 3-4 days during the week. The wind averages from 10-15. Sometimes it blows 15-20+. Best directions here: E, NE, NW, if you can stay well upwind of the jetty. Don't ride here if there is any South in the wind direction. Best season: fall to winter.
Take I-95 towards Savannah GA, Exit on highway 16 east to Savannah. Come into downtown Savannah and hit Bay Street. Go to the end of Bay Street and turn left on President Street. Follow President Street until it turns into Highway 80, follow 80 for 20 mins and you will run into Tybee Island. Turn left on US 80 onto Polk Street. Turn right onto Fort Street which becomes Taylor Street. Park at the North beach parking lot by the lighthouse and take the North walkway to the beach. Walk NW past the jetty. Launch as far away as possible from the jetty.
Kiters must wear kite leashes on Tybee Island. Impact harnesses are suggested. Do not kite alone. Stay away from the jetty. Don't go out far if you can't stay upwind.
