Somo, and the Cantabria region in general, is a beautiful wave spot. In case of lack of wind, you can rent a surfboard and still have a lot of fun. The tide is very present. Beside the fact that there are waves, which can bother the beginners, it is an easy spot, for about any level.
The sandy beach is beautiful and enormous. The kiters usually collect on the left side of the beach. Central part is for swimmers and right part of the beach for surfers. There is plenty of space for anybody.
Not far from Santander (Cantabria), about 30 min drive. Just across the bay to the east. Find a map and follow it until you get to Somo. The beach is one, and huge, impossible to miss.
