Crystal clear water. Shallow area about 100m long and 300m wide. Few corals, shoes recommended. Flat to choppy water, to the west deeper water with smaller waves.
Big sandy beach, soft sand. Lots of space. Kiter should launch all the way to the west since the normal northern wind is very gusty due to buildings upwind. Only experienced riders can launch and land next to the nautic station.
It almost never rains. Almost always sunshine and warm. Summer can be up to 40°C and the water 29°C. The sun is very hard, so clothes as sun protection is highly recommended. In autumn and spring nice temps with around 30°C and water still about 27°C. Winter gets a bit colder, temps from 20-25°C and the water about 22°C. A shorty is recommended, sometimes even long legs.
Great winds from spring to autumn. Summer has the most windy days. From October to April can be good can be bad. But normally you will have windy days at each trip. Winds can be anything, normally gets stronger before noon and drops in the afternoon. The wind is always stronger than the forecast, but if at least a norther wind with at least 2-3 Bft is forecasted, then you get enough to have fun. The typical northerly is offshore and gusty downwind of the buildings. For cleaner winds go to the west end of the beach. Once out on the water to the west the winds gets smoother and will be sideshore.
Launching and landing a kite is only recommended to experienced riders close to the nautical station. Go further west for cleaner winds. Do not kite at the Sheraton, since the wind will be way too gusty.
07-04-26 Toby: in front of the beach it is gusty due to the hotel next to the Robinson Club. But aside you can get out with no problem and have a great bay to explore. Fun place in the club!
