Approx. 4km sand beach with the harbor of La Caleta in the North and a small village in the South with rocks you should avoid. The beach is in average 30 meters wide. Only sand without rocks, corals, shells.
Typical Sardinia weather conditions apply. In May/June you can go out with a shorty or even a neo-top and shorts. During summer it can get really warm. No wetsuit needed until September.

Nice spot, not crowded at all during spring and autumn. Quite save since the bay is so big and the whole beach is sandy. The location has some special wind conditions. Many days we had only less than 8kts in the North and West coast of Sardinia, the La Caletta had good 12-16 knots. It seems that the valley which spans the East and West coast of Sardinia is able to increase the southerly wind to an enjoyable level. Winds coming from Southeast (Scirocco) and North winds (Mistral).
South of Olbia, follow signs to Posada and in Posada follow directions to La Caletta. In La Caletta try to enter the small road to the South with is close to the coast line. It is very easy to find because the bay and the beach are so big.
Supermarkets, Cafes and some good Italian restaurants can be found in La Caletta. Off season you can even camp in the parking lots which are close to the beach, but please keep the place tidy. Sardinia is the island with 1000 spots, all directions are good (you'll need a car), very windy island.
