Only beach on Ruegen with big waves in West winds. Choppy in lighter winds. Harder shore break in stronger winds, but therefore nice waves on the sandbar. Watch out for the current. For experts only.
Small sandy beach. Access on stairs down the cliff. Not so easy for windsurfers. But enough space for gear on the beach. Kiters be careful with upwinds.
Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C.
From Stralsund take B196 and B96 to Bergen, then to Sassnitz. Take L30 towards Sagard and Altenkirchen. In Luettkevitz turn right and drive towards Kuhle, Lancken and then to Kreptitz. In Kreptitz, park and walk for about 100m and find the stairs down to the beach.
