Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C.
Westerly winds with depressions. Best from fall to spring. Summer lighter. Nice NE and E winds in summer, but not very often. Works best in SE and E, which are not very common.
Get to Stralsund and drive onto Ruegen. Just after crossing the dam, turn right onto L29 and then follow signs to Zudar on L30. Pass Zudar and in Freudenberg turn left onto `Maltzien Dorfstrasse`. Pass Maltzien and keep driving to Grabow. From Grabow drive to the coast. Or get onto B96 which connects Stralsund and Greifswald. Follow signs to Stahlbrode where a small ferry ships you to Ruegen. On Ruegen get to Losentitz and turn right towards Maltzien. Pass Maltzien and keep driving to Grabow. From Grabow drive to the coast. Camping area available.
