In winter you must use wetsuits (5-6 mm or more), in summer you can use 2-3 mm or short wetsuit, or if you prefer you can avoid to use it at all. You can really kite all over the year, but the best months are from April to October. During the winter you must only be careful about the very cold water.

In the morning Peler starts at about 6-7am and blows from the North of the Lake until 10-11am, it's a great wind (15-30 knots) for good and advanced kiters, it depends in which area you want to go out for kiting and you can find good waves, it's a little bit gusty. In the afternoon Ora starts at about noon to 1pm and blows from the South of the Lake until 5-6pm, it's the best wind (15-20 knots): very steady.

Verona airport is 60 km far from the lake. You can arrive at Milano airport and the go to Brescia and you are 25 km far from Garda Lake. Then you've also lots of train and bus connections all over Italy. There are ferries to cross the whole Lake. The highway to major cities starts 20-40 km away from the lake.

There are rules by the local kite club. You have to pay 35 Euro per year to enter the beach but you have access to the rescue boat. A flotation vest is required. Campione Del Garda Kitesurf Rules and Regulations: The sport Association Tender Team Beach founded in 2001, promotes the sport of kitesurfing within spaces located in the proximity of Campione on Garda Lake. As published on the official map, exposed at the entrance of the kitebeach, the use of the beach area and the shores have been regulated in accordance with the Tremosine Municipality laws n° 30 of 21/06/2001. The water norms are regulated by local port authority's in accordance to Lombardia's Regional Law n° 20 of 16/08/1994. The staff is at your disposal for any clarifications and the beach guardians will ensure surveillance and supervision of the area so that the norms are upheld. Reqzuirements: Kitesurfing is allowed solely to those who follow the below listed requirements: 1. Hold a base level licence recognized and valid for the current year. 2. Hold an insurance policy for kitesurfing third party liability damages. 3. Contribute the required fee for the up keeping and maintenance of the kitebeach. 4. Have an effective security system consisting of the leach connected to one of the kite lines. 5. Have a recovery bracelet, purchasable at the kite beach. 6. Know the specific conditions of the locations: wind, turbulence, secure launching and landing areas. Behavior norms: Seen the particular layout of the kite beach, in order to avoid dangerous situations, which could incur damage of third parties or to oneself, and to ensure to all members the possibility to practice kitesurfing in complete safety, it is mandatory to adhere oneself closely to the following behavioral norms: 1. In the defined area, due to lack of space, each rider can inflate only one kite. The lines have to be wrapped neatly around the bar when the kite is on the beach. 2. The launch corridor must be clear at all times. Rider's additional inflated kites or kites not located on the side of the corridor will be promptly deflated by the kite beach guardians. 3. During the launch phase it is mandatory to be assisted. 4. Kites can be launched only one at a time from the launch corridor is possible; this should be performed in an orderly fashion to insure member's safety and to ensure that riders can launch quickly. 5. Right of way must always be given to riders who are reenter in the kitebeach over those who are departing. The following is prohibited: Walking with the kite in fight over any beaches outside the official kite beach. Keeping the wing in flight in the kite beach,unless for kite fine tuning which must be carried out with the assistance of other club members. Navigating within 50 meters to the coast. Re-entering in the areas reserved to bathing or windsurfing. To the beginners to try the departures less than 100 metres from the beach. The membership registration is possible every day from 1st April to 31th October from 11.00 to 18.00 near the kitebeach hut.
