The island's dunes offer visitors a variety of large beaches, public facilities, and there is also a small restaurant. Finally there is also a camping ground on the island.
There is no beach along Olhao's coastline. However, lying a couple of km offshore lies the Ilha de Armona, located in the Ria Formosa National Park. Small ferries run hourly between Olhao and Armona during the summer months. The trip takes approx. 15 minutes. There is a large parking lot next to Club Naval's boat landing stage. 'beach boats' also run hourly from Fuzeta during the summer.
