The place has the superb conditions both for the advanced riders and for beginners. The water of the Red Sea is perfectly clear. There are two spots for the kitesurfing: the flat water of the Moses bay and the wave spot in the shore of the open sea. The height of the waves reaches 1.5-2 m when the wind is strong. The direction is straight to the shore. The lagoon is the harbour of El Tur.

Location crowds:
- None

The sand is quietly good for the kites, because there are not any bushes, trees, shells. The shore of the sea is absolutely free of any buildings. As for the beach in front of the station at the Moses Bay beach there are some awnings but also enough space for the unhampered launch of the kite. As for me the best advantage of this place is the various conditions for kitesurfing. The hotel is situated right at the corner of the bay and the seashore. That's why you have no need waste the time changing the spot of your riding. At the most 15 minutes. And also there are no crowds of tourists, the place looks rather deserted and you have no one to prevent you to do your best tricks on the water and to launch your kite front the beach.

The season usually starts in autumn after hot summer and continues till the end of May. The temperature of water is no more than 18-20°C in the coldest days (January) and the air is the same. When it's cold they use long wetsuits, but most of the time you can ride without wetsuit or in a short 2-3mm wetsuit.

Usual and best winds: Northwest, North and Northeast. There are thermal winds so it usually starts to blow in 11-11:30am and finishes at 4-5pm till the dusk. The wind conditions at the seashore is also superb for kiteboarding and windsurfing because the usual direction of the wind there is sideshore. In the lagoon/harbour the wind is gustier and a bit turbulent. The main kiting area is very gusty most of the time. The main area is also almost direct offshore mostly with a boat service if you need to be rescued.

 Comments
08-10-13 Unknown: nice wavespot in open ocean for kitesurfing freestyle and wave riding. In the arbor same beginners windsurfers stop your water life, and a russian instructor dont like kitesurf, he's not a friend of freestyle kite.
05-08-02 James: Just returned from el-tur and completely agree with the comments below. The lagoon wind is cross offshore and directly offshore in places. It is extremely gusty, unsuitable for beginners (regardless of rescue boat) and equally frustrating for advanced riders. Up the road is a wavespot which is excellent - clean cross onshore wind. Go there if you're going.
05-07-04 Peter: I have just returned from El Tur. I will confirm the previous comment that the main kiting area is very gusty most of the time. The main area is also almost direct offshore mostly with a boat service if you need to be rescued. My comments are accurate and reasonable.
05-04-11 ronald: the lagoon is the harbour of el tur. the wind is supergusty and turbulent. this spot is definately not suited for beginners!!! the wavespot is ok though. if you look for perfect flatwater conditions go somewhere else!!!
