The wind starts at about 9.30 am, usually lasts until 5 pm. Generally NE, which is onshore. The easterly trade winds starts to blow in mid to late November and continue until late spring. The wind is light in the morning (perfect for beginners) and by late morning, early afternoon the wind builds and blows side on shore averaging 15-25 knots into the night.
From Montego Bay Airport drive 30 mins east, through Falmouth until Starfish Hotel. Entry point to beach is approx. a mile further east. Public beach available right next to the school.
04-06-01 Jim: Was there in April '04. Used my 7m kite 8/9 days! Sandy bottom can walk out at least 100m. I've been windsurfing and kiting here for many years and have rarely been dissappointed. Brian's Windsurfing school has been locating here in the winter months Dec.-Apr. for about the last 5 years.
