Flat surface, choppy waves. Waves are not big, max. 1 meter. 2sqm kilometer big bay, with about 500x400m shallow area. Special, shallow beginners area. Small waves with South winds.
It is around 1 km wide. There is very little sand. Lots of little shells. There is great space of launching in the shallow water. Actually it is a huge bay.
No wetsuit is necessary during June, July and August. Between May and October it is nearly 20-22°C. Season can go into end of October. Off season surfing is possible.
All year wind rates perfect. Sometimes 6-7 Bft. Mostly 5 Bft. Changing from year to year. Main wind direction April to November: North. Main wind direction November to April: South. Usually in summer lighter before noon (4-5 Bft) increasing in the afternoon to 5-6 Bft. Winds: summer: Meltemi or Poyraz (NW), Gerence (NE), spring and fall: Lodos (S).
Go to Izmir, Adnan Menderes Airport. Take the bus to Alacati. Or you can take a bus from Izmir airport to Cesme. It takes 1 hour. From Cesme to Alacati you can take a taxi or minibus to the surfing clubs in Alacati, it takes 20 min. There is minibus every hour from downtown Alacati to the beach.
