Hot and humid in the summer. Wetsuit in the winter time when cold air from the fronts blow through. Water temps varies with the seasons. Very warm in the summer and cools off to wetsuit temperatures in winter.

Fairly constant 15-20+ when it is blowing but watch the clouds for unexpected gusts from thunderstorms. Hurricanes and tropical storms send wind through from late summer through October.

From I-10 exit to West End Blvd. and continue towards the lake. Take a left onto NO Hammond Hwy, cross the river and follow the road which curves. Then turn right onto Live Oak St. and right after about a mile onto Bonnabel Blvd, which leads you to the parking lot at the spot.
