There are some flat riding area depending on the sand banks. There are 600 meters of rideable area before you get to the river mouth where you will find really nice flat conditions, but there are crocodiles and is not recommended for people who spend a lot of time in the water. Be warned don't kite north of the the rigging area as this can lead you to being swept onto rocks or the swimming area. Be aware of Stinger(jelly fish) during season.

Summer is ok but inconsistent and you do need a full stinger suit as there are deadly marine stingers from November to May.

If driving with a car, take the Yorkeys Knob turn off and follow your nose to the beach. Kite area is 200m north of the main beach. It is the 2nd beach north to the airport.
