Most people wear board shorts except for May to July they may wear a spring suit.

The heart of the Gold Coast is Surfers Paradise. Mermaid Beach is 5 minutes drive south of Surfers Paradise. The main airport for the Gold Coast is located in Coolangatta which is around 25 minutes south of Mermaid Beach. Bus transport travels to Mermaid Beach from both Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise. If you are coming from Brisbane you can go by train/bus.
