You don't want to go down wind of Method Beach, unless riding across the bay. Killer wave spot in winter.

When the wind is offshore at Kitebeach, it is side shore at Method Beach. The narliest wind on Maui is the easterly trades. Most of the kite beaches are in a wind shadow and tough to launch from especially in easterly trades. Method has great exposure and the wind is 5-10 mph less when the super narly winds fill in. If there is a high around, this spot works. It is a marginal to poor beach on Northerlies.

The easiest way to get there is to park across the street from the shops. There is a nature trail through cool lagoons to the beach. Method Beach is the last beach on the Northeast side of the island, and is used as an exit point for downwinders.
