The deepest point is about 8 feet but most of the area is chest deep. The water is flat but can become choppy if the wind is strong. Tidal change is about 2 feet and really does not affect things much.

There is another launch at the eastern end of the lagoon that is rocky but is awesome on a Southeaster because you can do a nice downwinder.

The air temperature in winter never gets much below 76°F and in summer seldom gets over 90°F. A wetsuit is never necessary although lycras are great for sun protection.

The wind in winter is typically 15-20 knots but can be very gusty. The summers are dead calm unless we have tropical systems moving through. Tropical systems in summer mean either no wind or 35+ knots. The best time is winter from late November to about April.
