The island is located about 800 meters offshore to the West. The water on the outside of the `bowl` is typically a little choppy with up to 3 foot wind chop (if very windy). The water depth is from inches deep to over 6 feet deep. The inside of the bowl (the reason why we kite here) is shallow (2-4 feet) and flat to dead flat. The `bowl` is kiteable from SE to W winds.

The Sunset bowl is a u-shaped island with very low relief - (ave. height above water level is about 4 feet) all sand with occasional beds of small rounded rocks with some small trees and bushes - but otherwise bare beach.
