Spring and fall generally brings stronger winds, 15-25 knots 1-4 times per week. South and Southeast winds are best for this location because they are the steadiest winds, although South is an onshore wind, which is considered risky. Compensate the onshore wind by walking out very far from shore. The water stays shallow 1/2 mile out on the west side of the launch area. Southwest winds are sometimes gusty. West winds are gusty or very gusty. Ask for a water launch with a West wind because the trees block the wind on the grassy launch. East winds are very rare. Best winds: spring and fall.
