There is no way you can enter by land without going through private property, and the owners will get very upset if they catch you. There are also areas on the sandbars that are private land. So even if you get to the spot by boat don't walk on the shoreline, stay right along the edge, this is Michigan law. A few kiteboarders have special agreements with land owners, that is the only way it can be used.
05-06-26 Gonzo: Not a very good place to ride on a South wind. It needs to be South West or at the least SSW. On a South the wind is very turbulent coming off the land.
Other than that its a great place to ride, but it can get crowded.
