This is a public beach which can get very crowded with clueless Midwesterners in the summer. Keep your kite well out of the swimming areas. You should be comfortable staying upwind in deep bump and jump chop to avoid penetrating the swim area. The north end of beach is a national wildlife preserve and a prohibited launch area. Rangers on 4 wheelers will warn you, but will generally let you get off the beach.
