Once a year during rainy season (February/March) the lagoon has too much water and the water breaks through to the ocean. Then the lagoon is too shallow to ride on it. Be careful with rocks in the water who have very sharp shells on it. They are in the middle of the lagoon closer to the beach. It's recommended to wear shoes.

On weekends can be locals sunbathing and/or swimming on the northern side of the lagoon, better try working days as the lagoon is not too big, to avoid possible accidents and access restrictions.
