The prevailing wind is NNE (sideonshore). While Durban offers excellent safe kitesurfing beaches the North and South coast offer epic uncrowded conditions with good point breaks that work in winds from NE through to SW. The location is best in NNE / NE winds but can also support winds through to southerly - Kite Beach is not good on SW winds.
