It is known as a high wind big swell location for windsurfing. However there are plenty of days when the winds are less than 30 and it's a perfectly good kiting location. It's more of an intermediate to advanced location due to the onshore to sideonshore winds. If the wind is out of the West enough it could work for beginners. Prime wind direction is South to Southwest.
