With all easterly directions, good waves. Very steep directly at the beginning of the water. No beginner spot. During summer crowded by sunbathers and swimmers. Then start right from the water. Stronger shore break with stronger easterlies. Best waves in NE or N at the mole.

During spring and autumn with wetsuit, during summer short arm or shorty. A wetsuit is necessary nearly all over the year. The water is between 5-20°C (spring to summer), air temperature is in the average 18°C (in summer) and can go up to 30°C. If you have the adequate wetsuit you can surf from April to November. Off-season is possible but very cold.

From the highway A7 drive northbound until exit Rendsburg/Buedelsdorf drive further to Eckernfoerde. In Eckernfoerde drive left to Kappeln. Near Kappeln you will see a McDonalds sign take a right. After a few kilometers there is a sign on the right side `Strand`. Next sign shows you to take a left. Then you reach the parking area. Best to park is on the right side of the parking. And you are directly at the beach. Parking fees only during season.
