Depending upon the tide, mixture of waves off shore (300m). Further out in the channel between the mainland and Kapiti Island big rolling swell is common. Waves up to 1.5-2m most common.

06-05-11 BLOWN AWAY: Waikanae Beach rocks.. epic 20-25 knots when i was there. Northerly wind and great little waves to play in.
