Flat water. With stronger wind it gets choppy. The lake is shallow almost everywhere. Sandy bottom. There is a special surf zone from April 1st to September 30th at the Southeast part of the lake. During winter you can also enter on the Northwest part of the lake.
No beach. Only grass around the lake. Not much space, but enough to launch and land. Keep distance from the wooden obstacles at the parking lot of the southeast area.

Winds come with depressions. Can be any force. Every direction has gustier wind, but is safe, since you can go almost everywhere on shore. Best directions are SW, W and NW.
Get on the 557 between Thisted and Klitmoeller. Leave the 557 at the sign `Sjørring`, then you will already see the lake. Drive down the road until you see the parking lot. Free parking. During winter you can also drive along the 557 and get to the Northwest part of the lake and exit on a small dirt road to another parking lot. Park for free and walk down the stairs to the water, where you will find a big enough grassy area.
05-05-20 tietze: The spot is not possible to use for the moment as the farmer has removed the parking lot and it is only accessible though his fields. The other end of the lake surfing is forbidden as it is a protected reserve/ habitat. Will probably be open again in 2006.
