Long, sandy beach. You can get on this beach when it is not crowded (bad weather, strong winds), but make sure to stay off the beach on busy days, since this is one of the most popular beaches in summer. Lots of space from autumn to spring. Best beach area and access north of the bridge (south of the Holsten Therme).

Edit  How to get there
Transport:
- Car
Access:
- Long Walk

From Hamburg drive on A1 north. Behind Luebeck the exit is signposted. Follow the road until you reach Timmendorfer Strand. Follow the road and see a gas station to the left, follow the main road (Luebecker Straße) until it makes a hard right (Bergstr.) and turn left onto Wohldstr. After about 200m you will see a big parking lot, where you can always park for free. Park here and carry your gear for about 200m to the beach. You can also drive further until you reached the Strandallee (red asphalt). Turn left and follow the road and park anywhere where it is allowed to for free. Or park close to the beach and pay a fee further down the road around the `Holsten Therme` (swimming park).

Edit  Rules, Restrictions and Extra Info
Rules:
- Restricted Zones
- Fees

Keep distance from the bridge and the boats around the bridge, specially the tourist boats who always insist of their right of way. Very packed beach during high season with swimming zones. Rescue only in summer. You need to pay to access the beach. A good spot to launch is at the surf school. On a summer day make contact before you launch.

Edit  Nightlife Some bars and one good nightclub (Nautic Club). Great fun in summer.
