Waves, beach break, small to medium and nice waves, onshore. Can be heavy especially in winter. Tides in spring, summer and autum are good, fluctuate more towards winter. Summer tides are best. Waves are excellent ramps, the longer and stronger the side onshore the more scallopped they get, but it is sideonshore and perfect set up so enjoy those waves. Heading out into the waves in summer they are not too heavy and so make for pleasant ride, it's busy and you have to keep your eyes open as in all wave spots. On the way in and out between the waves the usual flat sections.

Wide open sandy beach which is about 150 kms long. It's one of the longest continous beaches in the world, and one where you can drive on. This beach has so much room, just get away from the people and find your own spot. Most of summer you can drive on it with a regular car, check with the locals at Kingston to see if all is okay as conditions change.

Best time of the year is summer when the prvailing SE wind patterns set up the seabreeze. Wind will normally go to the south (sideonshore) about midday in summer and then pick up to smaller sized gear at about 4 pm. be ready for very strong wind at this time, sometimes it comes in and sometimes not.

It is simple. If you are at Kingston SE (South East), head along the main road 17 kms until you find the large sign `To the Granites`, follow your nose. This is a country trip and you will stay at Kingston or Robe which are small towns south of The Granites. If comming from Adelaide look out for it before you hit Robe. It is about 3.5 hours from Adelaide.

 Rules, Restrictions and Extra Info
Rules:
No Information

Watch out for cars and planes on this beach. Please keep this spot safe and open for us all. It is a perfect paradise for kiting and windsurfing. Abide by all usual rules for kiting and: keep away from other beach users please, this place has so much room that there is NO reason for it to be stuffed up by stupid kiting near swimmers and famillies. If you go south of the Granite rocks, get far enough upwind that you will not hit them. When jumping be aware that it is shallow a bit further out on low tide, check the depth, since it can get very shallow in the shore area and people still seem to want to jump over this, don't! Keep away from the car ramp at the Granites as it is used a lot and even though when you first rock up there may be no one there you can be assured a convoy of vehicles will come down and decend upon your gear! Please look after this place, no littering, and if you camp there clean up and take your glass and plastic with you.

Edit
 Nightlife
The nearby town of Kingston SE is a beautiful seaside country town and has hotels, caravan park and restaurants, take away etc., but no nightlife.
