Easy 45 minute drive from New Orleans. Take I-10 East. After you get into Mississippi take Exit 2 towards Waveland. Turn at Sliver Slipper Casino Sign. Follow signs to Beach.Edit
This is possibly the best beach for beginners near New Orleans. Other launches are available, but are more sketchy.Edit
New Orleans, Waveland and Bay St Louis Ms offer significant places to get stupid at night.Edit
