- Medium Wave (1-3m)
- Big Wave (> 3m)
Hazards:
- Currents
- Reefs
- Corals

Quality:
- Crystal Clear
Best Tide:
- High Tide

Giant lagoon with flat water and some reform waves available. Tide can be a problem, and special care must be taken as the sea bed is covered with stag horn coral which is very sharp and breakable. Most of this spot is flat to very flat water riding, specially just inside the reefs edge where the broken waves flatten out the water in the lagoon. The reform waves will be found if you sail upwind towards the East, Northeast, just on the inner edge of the barrier at high tide. Some really serious surf is to be had passed L'Isle Aux Oiseaux, but it is so far that you will have to get a boat with local knowledge to take you there.

Best access spot is at the hotel beach, or right next to it if you are not staying at the hotel. This is fine white sand and the entry is trouble free. A bit of grass has to be dealt with if you choose a lower tide.

Windy time is the SE trade wind period, from June to October, and small kites are a definite must there. The wind is always 5-10 knots more than in Mauritius, making Rodrigues a prime target.

 How to get there
Transport:
- Car
- Bus
Access:
- Short Walk

Rodrigues can only be reached by boat or small plane from Mauritius or Reunion island. The spot is on the Southeastern point of the island, right in front of "La Passe Sud Est". Buses do go there, but a rental car or bike is preferable as time schedules are inconsistent.

 Rules, Restrictions and Extra Info

Always be extra careful in lagoons when approaching channels and passes, the current will surprise you very often and you will get sucked out to sea before you know it. Usually sharks also like to hang around there, as they can just sit and gobble up the morsels that come ripping past. Around the island there are a lot of fish, so every boat has its rod or hand line for fishing which is constantly in use, so do not pass to near boats as you might get caught up like a fish. Behind moving boats there are often trawling lines, these are a great trap.
