The wind in Playa Grande is about 1 Bft less strong than in Cabarete. During summer the wind picks up at around noon and stays until sunset. The wind is gustier closer to shore. Don't get too close to the cliff at the west end of the beach, since here no wind will blow. If you cannot stay upwind and miss the beach, ride further west to Playa Grande, which is around the corner.

 How to get there
Transport:
- Car
Access:
- Short Walk

About 70km (1hr) drive from Cabarete to the East. Follow the street along the coast to Rio San Juan and then to Mata Puerco. Before Mata Puerco follow signs to Playa Grande. Once you see Playa Grande, keep driving a bit further and the next beach you will see, is Playa Preciosa. Park at the west end on the little area above the beach and walk down to the water.
