Nice water, flat and choppy. Waves outside at the reef. Watch out for lots of swimmers. Bigger waves during winter.

Nice, sandy beach with palm trees close by. The beach can be packed with people, so be careful. But normally you will find enough space. Rocks at the north and south end.

The Dom. Rep. has warm water, and warm air, all year round. No wetsuit is necessary, although sun protection like a lycra is always good. Mid September-mid December: great rain season.

The wind in Playa Grande is about 1 Bft less strong than in Cabarete. The wind in Cabarete Kite Bay is the trade wind. Wind speed can vary from light in the mornings, getting stronger in the afternoon, then light again for sunset. Mid September-mid December: surf time but sometimes it's rideable and can be very good (10-20 knts). Mid December-January: we can have really good conditions (20-25 knts).February-mid May: trade-winds 15-20 knts, good waves. Mid May-mid September: 20-25 knts, sometimes 30 knts trade winds.

About 70km (1hr) drive from Cabarete to the East. Follow the street along the coast to Rio San Juan and then to Mata Puerco. Before Mata Puerco follow signs to Playa Grande.
