Generally speaking, winds are strongest and most consistent in the winter - but in the winter they are generally NE. NW winds, good here at McDuff's, are frontal. Spring good winds, too - through April/May. Summer wind is typically SE - and thermal: picks-up in the afternoons. The beach at McDuff's faces NW; but there is a beach just on the other side of the island (about 100m) with a SE exposure.
