The season goes from April to November. In that time air from spring 10-20°C, in summer up to 30°C and autumn 10-16°C. Water spring 8-13°C, summer 18-23°C, autumn 8-14°C. You always need a wetsuit. You can go out off-season but it will be very cold, a thick wetsuit or better drysuit, mask, shoes and gloves recommended.
Take E45 and exit at no.59 onto 13 direction Viborg. Pass Tørring, Nørre Snede and Hjøllund. Just after Knudstrup and Torning turn right onto 186 towards Skive. Pass Frederiks and Sjørup until the center of Skive. Here take the 26 direction Nykøbing and Thisted. Just after the steel bridge crossing the Vilsund turn right. Pass through two round-abouts and get onto 26. In the next round-about stay on 26 towards Hanstholm. You will see the beaches from the top of the hill in Hanstholm, where 2 small roads head down to the beach. Here take the asphalt street all the way on the water to the East and further on a dirt road until you reach a red gate in the dunes area. Park here and rig.
