Huge, sandy beach. Very long and wide. Hard sand further up, soft sand closer to the water. Extremely CROWDED on weekends. Better during the week. Be very careful using this beach. To the south end of the beach a big harbor dam.
Always sunny with daily rain showers during summer. Strong sun, make sure to wear sun protection. In winter it can get quiet cold, specially on stronger North winds, then a thin wetsuit or shorty is good. Normally just shorts needed.
Nice winds with fronts. Be aware of sudden storms, then the wind can be very strong and gusty. The wind can shift within minutes, watch the sky. Summer usually lighter winds.
From Miami drive to Miami South Beach. In South Beach drive all the way to the water on Ocean Drive. Drive south to 4th street and park. Access the beach at the small park.
South beach is kinda banned for kitesurfers, you must launch/enter on 4th St. You can't keep your kite up on the sand. You must stay behind the swim buoys. Extremely CROWDED on weekends. 4th street get more and more difficult, since lifeguards are not particular kiter friendly. Right now they let you kite at 23th street.
