Perfectly flat. Summer time the low tide is very low but it is still ridable on the outside or in the shallows on the left side. Big shallow area, for about one mile out.

Pebbles and rocks. When the tide is out the launching area is wider and softer. It is dangers to launch when it's NE onshore in high gusty winds especially in high tide in a limited space next to the parking lot, the trees and the rocks. Launch with everyone standing in the water.
Only winter time when the season is you might need a shorty wetsuit when the cold fronts are going through during the air might be the lower 60°F and water around 70°F. The season is from October till May.

05-11-08 banq81991: Ive alreday taken 2 classes der and i think its pretty gud if u wanna learn. Plus its always full of other riders so ull always be accompanied. And no offense but a if u cant handle a few rocks and a smell how du u handle kiteboarding. Also its shallo fr like a mile out waist deep the whole way. O and aboyut the jellyfish... Im not sure but ive been sailing in the bay for 3 years and ive only seen 3 jelly fish inthe whole time.
04-03-17 Wcoastplaya: This place smells bad. Mud everywhere, jellyfish.
I would avoid this spot if you are in miami visiting. There is no space to launch and the beach is rocky. Goto crandon, it is a much better spot.
