Beach is ok at low tide but quite small at high tide. Sometimes a bit difficult to take off or land your kite. Nice piece of grass in front of the hotel to put and dry the gear with no sand.
The wind is Southeast from May to October. These are the only months when surfing is possible there. Two seasons: Southeast monsoon (May to October), which is ok for surfing, and Northwest monsoon (December to March), where the wind is very low in general.
Just south of the airport. From the international airport, turn left and drive south for about 3.5km on the main road. Ascend a hill and as you descend the other side, youll see Katiolo discotheque on the left (at the deep bend in the road). From that point onwards there are several places where you will be able to park your car and access the beach.
