Can be very nice waves up to 2m. During the first Poniente days mainly flat water. With several strong Poniente days and high tide, a lagoon is created, about 1.5 km long and up to 200m wide. Excellent for a downwinder to Tarifa (Playa Chica).
Air in winter 20°C, in summer between 25 and 35°C. Water between 18°C in winter and 23°C in summer. Winter long wetsuit, summer shorty or shorts, rest of the year shorty.
Levante (Northeast wind) is gusty and strong between 15-30 knots normally but some days 40 knots. Poniente (West wind) is perfect for kitesurfing with 8-20 knots. Sideshore NNW and SSE.
From Tarifa drive towards Cadiz. About 1 km outside Tarifa turn left into a small dirt road, leading you to a parking lot and a many pines trees. Free parking. 40 min of walking to Tarifa.
The local government will not longer allow any kite/wind surfing on the main beach `Los Lances` during the summer time (June 15th till September 15th).
