Launch and land in the `Day Sail Launch` area. The launch and landing area is grassy. The launch and landing area is very small with trees and cars very close. You have to walk your kite out straight above you because two tall trees are to the left and right of you where you walk out onto the water. You launch right next to your car. There's also numerous trees close by. Chunks of concrete line the shore.

Summer generally brings lighter winds, 10-15 knots 1-2 times per week. Spring and fall generally brings stronger winds, 15-25 knots 1-4 times per week. South and Southeast winds are best for this location because they are the steadiest winds, although South is an onshore wind, which is considered risky. Compensate the onshore wind by walking out very far from shore. The water stays shallow 1/2 mile out on the west side of the launch area. Southwest winds are sometimes gusty. West winds are gusty or very gusty. Ask for a water launch with a West wind because the trees block the wind on the grassy launch. East winds are very rare. Best winds: spring and fall. Mainly used kite sizes: 12-16 sqm.

Don't launch or land on the beach or we'll be banned. Concrete lines the shore here, so be careful. The daily fee is $4 and an annual pass is $20. Not a beginners beach. The famous Metro rocks are a dangerous hazard for all riders but serve as the perfect peanut gallery for onlookers.
