Conneaut, Ohio is located on Lake Erie. Conneaut Harbor is a sandbar the sticks out into the lake a quarter of a mile. This is a flat water area due to two a half mile break wall that creates a slick like effect on the water. Depending on the water level it ranges from 400 yards to 200 yards of shallow water. Never any crowds. If you like waves then you can shoot the gap in the break wall and go out into the lake for some wave riding.

 Comments
06-02-03 Gary Snyder: This beach is NOT for beginners as the author indicates. It can be potentially dangerous to someone who cannot stay upwind and can be congested if there are many sailors in the harbor. However; it is a blast when the wind is from the right direction. Also, a West wind will be sideonshore, not offshore as the author stated. A South through East wind is offshore here.
