Very large bay. Incorporates 3 surf breaks. Great surf in offshore conditions, awesome kitesurfing in onshore. Only works in SE which is predominent summer seabreaze (sideonshore). The further East you go in the bay the larger the waves get.
Really nice beach. Can be very crowded on the beach with tourists in main beach area in summer. Plenty of beach to launch from, all white sand up to dunes. No hard objects.
Summer is best. Springsuit advised as constant wetting with waves and wind can chill you out and ruin an otherwise tope session.
Air about 26°C. Water about 20°C.
Warrnambool is a large city on Australias main highway 240km West of Melbourne. Train and bus all come from Melbourne and Warrnambool has its own small airport. Very popular tourist town. On the Great Ocean Road and part of the Shipwreck coast.
