Kiting in mangroves, so very flat water with shallow areas. The mangrove islands are connected by fringing reefs that are exposed and run perpendicular to the wind direction. The reefs block all chop, creating super flat butter on the leeward side no matter how windy it gets.

Warm and sunny weather year round. Tropical marine, mild. Little seasonal temperature variation. Water temp 79°F, air 85°F. No wetsuit needed. The South is dry compared to the North.

About 17-20 knots in average. All directions will work, but mainly East winds. The 20 foot tall mangroves create a rotor that increases with the wind direction, giving you an extra boost when you jump.

From San Juan take the 52 to the South coast and drive further west to Ponce. Then take the 2 and later 116. Stay on 116, follow signs onto 304 to La Parguera. From La Parguera you need a boat to get into the mangroves.
