Best winds from August until January. Off-season with more rain and less wind, but still about 60% wind. During season winds between 20-30 knots, off-season 15-25 knots.
You can only get there by boat. Fly to Fortaleza, then drive with the car on CE-085 until Itarema. Drive into the center until you can only go left or right. Drive left here and immediately right again (before the antenna). Drive for about 200m to the streets end, and turn left, and next right. Then you are on a 4 lane street, 2 lanes each direction with small trees in between. Follow this road all the way along the lagoon. Behind the lagoon follow the street and turn right at the sign "Praia da Barra". This street ends right at the kite lagoon. About 2.5 hours drive from Fortaleza. Park to the right at the pousadas and beach restaurants. Here ask for a boat transfer at high tide. Or go to Porto dos Barcos, and ask for a boat transfer there. After your session you can do a downwinder back to Praia da Barra. But you cannot kite back to Porto dos Barcos.
