Some good waves here, but a huge powerful shore break so not for beginners or people who are easily scared. On the prevailing wind (Southwest) the waves are great but there is no room to drift downwind.
All pebbles, there is a little sand at low tide. This beach is only for experienced riders. The only accepted launch and landing area is behind the King Alfred leisure center. So you need to stay upwind.
3mm wetsuit in the summer, 5mm in spring and autumn. Surfing is all year round for those who don't mind the cold. The sea is up at 16°C in summer and down to 8°C in winter. Season May to October.
Hove is to the west of Brighton. On the coast road you will see the King Alfred leisure center. You will see the water slides. Behind it is a car park and the beach.
