Beach is littered with small sticks/shells/coral and small pebbles. Top of the beach is soft sand as the tide rarely reaches there. This beach is normally only used on NE to NW winds and at high tides, when there's no beach available at 'The Dome'. This is actually a small creek mouth, which is only joined with the sea at high tide. There is always enough space to launch/land here.
Air temps average from low 20's°C (at the beginning of the season) to mid 30's°C during Summer. Water temps are normally a few degrees lower. A wetsuit (shortsuit) is nice at the beginning and end of the season. Definitely not required in summer. Season normally goes from approx. October to April.
Average 10-15 kts NE to NW, sometimes up to 20+ kts. Best direction is N or NW, but NE is ok too, providing you don't go too far west (rocks and reef etc). After April, the winds turn W to SW and are gusty/patchy. This beach is normally only used on NE to NW winds, when there's no beach available at 'The Dome'.
Follow the Esplanade west to the Seafront Oval. There is a beach access on the right, between the trees. You can park here but there is no official road/carpark, just grass/sand.
