Water is typical of the area surrounding the Mississippi River. It is brackish, maybe a foot or so of visibility. For about 750 yards out, it is smooth water, with a reef break after that, then small waves.

Spring is best with breeze from the SE. In Summer, the wind is generally decent for large kites (16-20m). After September, or October, the fronts start coming in and you can ride smaller kites, around 12m. Can be ridden in any direction of wind except for directly out of the North as that is directly offshore. For North winds go to the Silver Slipper Beach about 10 miles West of Henderson Point.
Take I-10, Take Exit 2, 13, or 20 head south to Henderson Point. The Point is on the East end of Bay St Louis. Or take the beach road US-90 from any point on the gulf coast and you will come to it.
West of Henderson Point, Bay St Louis took a direct hit from Hurricane Katrina but hotels bars and restaurants are back. To the East, Gulfport offers plenty of small town activities. New Orleans is about 1 hour West with more craziness. Ride Hard - Party Hard.
