The water is shallow till about 200 meters offshore. The soil is very slippery, so you can't really stand and give resistance to the kite. After 200 m it becomes deep. The water can be quite choppy actually. Big salt water lake.

There's is a small sand beach, with lots of shells, and pebbles, so be carefull with your kite there. You can launch your kite safely but watch out with onshore winds, cause you're at the bottom of a dyke, on which there is lots of barbwire. Entry: This is one of the downsides to this spot, cause the beach is accesible trough a narrow road, and on good day's the end of the road is blocked with people. So you have to park a bit away and walk to the beach with your stuff etc.

Get a routeplanner for the Netherlands, and use your departure point and "Herkingen" as destination, for the route to the village. When you're there drive into the village and follow the signs that'll lead to the marina. Go trough the doors that are build into the dyke (for storm protection), and take a right there this will lead you into, the small road that leads to the beach.
