The water is not perfectly flat, it is choppy, up to about 1 m high. May be there will be a higher wind swell when there is long lasting stronger wind.
Grey beach, rough grainy, like micro pebbles. Very easy to beat off the kite, don't stick too much. No shells, no sea urchins, no rocks, no concrete, no walls, buildings, etc. Very large bay all sand, between 30-50m wide, a lot of space to launch and land. No shallow water, after 2-3m you can't stand any more. In May the beach was more or less clean in front of the camping site, dirty with a lot of rubbish on the left and right of it. Plastic and flotsam from fishing boats. Crowdy beach during July/August, all other month quiet empty.
Main direction Northwest, thermal winds between 3-5 Bft. Very constant, not gusty. Slightly sideonshore. There can also be bad weather wind also NW but stronger, or from SW stronger.
Fly to Lamezia Terme in South Italy, Calabria. Or from the North go by car via Milano, Roma, Napoli to Lamezia Terme and a few kilometers to Gizzeria Lido. Or go to Napoli by ferry e.g. from Genua, and the rest by car.
